A nice start to a new year:
I'm glad to be mostly in the swing of things again after my Florida trip. Did my photos post, tracked down the last species of fish and birds for labeling them, got caught up with the laundry and bills too. Also finished my monthly and yearly summary posts, and spent a good chunk of time on final edits for 'Embers Fade to Ash' before getting it posted over at my Triune books community. Feels great!
Any weekend in which I get a story added over at What's Cooking... is a good weekend, and doubly so for getting to add TWO of them!
All that feasting in Florida put my weight up far too much, so over the last week I did 50 miles on my exercise bike to try to cut it back down. That is definitely helping!
Not only did Minnesota roll out the "white carpet" for my return home, but it has kicked off January with a trip to the artic. It's already -4 with a windchill of -19 out there, and dropping. It's going to be really really 'balmy' by morning for my walk to the park and ride lot! Like my mom said, more reason to be grateful I bought that nice new winter coat this fall.
Thanks! My weight didn't go down much this week, unfortunately, even with a 40-hour fast, but by next week I expect I'll be heading in the right direction again. It is really nice to pedal on the exercise bike while watching episodes on my tv. Better than sitting on the couch and eating junk food, that's for sure!
