Labor Day weekend counts as the close of summer season here in Minnesota (YAY!!!1!) Unfortunately for me and happily for most everybody else, it's going to be a hot one. So no attempting to kick off any big writing projects over here, but there's plenty else to keep me diverted.
Also finally got to properly celebrate my finishing my 'Power among the Races' essay on Friday night with the ingestion of yummy mozzerella sticks.
My un-fun night of August 27-28, with hours of noisy storming and a little closet bailing, reminded me how much I have to be grateful for. Compared to August of 2007, with its bridge collapse and storms pulverizing the south-eastern part of the state, and lots of bailing opportunities, August of 2008 only having ONE leaky storm-night is an immense blessing! And the summer storm season will be winding down soon, hurrah!
Also grateful this week to have two people pop up on LJ whom I haven't heard from in quite some time: Deb and Matt. Glad to learn what's going on with them. And it was a delicious treat to get to read Matt's latest short on Wyvern's over lunch Wednesday. I hope his writing block is gone for good--I love his stories!
