Wow, do I have a lot to gush about as I prepare to depart the internet:

Happiness is getting a print-out of the first 27 chapters of my 4th book from Kinko's. 150,000 words is painfully long for reading off a monitor, so it will be nice to curl up in bed with a up-to-date copy and review it from the parts I wrote 4 years ago that seem much further away. Gives me a good benchmark of what to expect when I make paper copies for me and family when the book is done, too.

Happiness is following a visit to the dentist with a trip to Chipotle's to use the last few dollars on my wonderful gift card. Yum, YUM!

Happiness is another person reading 'Beside the Bookcase' at last! Except now I'm in a Grumpy-Pelt Heruvael mood. ;)

Happiness is filling my car up today at $2.22.9 per gallon! I want to pinch myself--the last time I filled up, about three weeks ago, I though it was fantastic to be getting it for $3 per gallon!

More joy in getting back home to find that the roulette commission I'd gotten from Nambroth is done! I uploaded the small watermarked theft-deterring version here. Between writing Holunn's monologue, 'Nothing Gold,' 'Vigil,' and pondering over book 4 plotting, the Lord of all Forests/guardian spirit of the hyarmi race has been on my mind a bit this year. Neat to see her depiction!

Last, but certainly not least, I accomplished the hurdle of getting my third rewrite of 'Brann and The Defender' into book 4. It was fun being intentionally unpolished and having Adya keep interrupting Geren and arguing on t'DoL's behalf. And a little eerie to put down, in a very different manner and setting, the very first line I ever wrote (I started in the middle of that story) waaaaay back in 1994. I'm also trying not to twist my arm patting myself on the back over the way I found to make the most problematic elements of the first two versions actually work with my story-world as it stands now. Triumph!

Will be getting offline in a couple hours, and be back sometime in early November. Still keeping up with e-mail though. See you later!

It's a lovely picture, isn't it?

Quite a diverse range of good news here. I'm pleased to hear that everything is going so well, especially your work on book 4. I hope you enjoy your break.

I'm quite pleased. =)

Feels like I've been through the wringer and didn't get that much done (compared to expectations) but I obviously needed it or I'd have done even less!

Did you get much of a chance to have some rest?

Aside from sleeping in on the weekends, not really. I got too spoiled with three and four-day weekends, these two-day ones feel terribly short!

I think I can finally sort-of stand it the third time around! That feels good. =)

*hugs* I hope the cloak-sewing is going well!

All sorts of good news! (And anything involving Chipotle -- even if it is the dentist! -- is a good thing!)

"Cheap" gas is a good thing.

The painting is beautiful!

What's this 'Beside the Bookcase' -- have I missed something??? (It's quite possible I've missed a lot! I have a hard time keeping track... =)

Happy internet hiatus!

I can't believe it's below $2.00/gallon out here now!!!!!!!

Thanks! I hope your moving preparations are going well! Looking forward to seeing it in December!
