Been an interesting couple days:
I finally got around to using the two big side panels of the cardboard box my LCD tv had come in--cut them up to make window blocks for my side door window and the upper halves of my narrow windows in the living room. Used them the last two nights (with the addition of the West Point blanket Aaron gave me to cover the dining room window) and the increase in darkness has really helped! Today I slept in to 5:40 am--without a sleeping pill! Sure beats 4:40 or earlier!
I find I'm actually grateful to be living 2,000 miles from family at present--already got scolded by my mom over a certain bloodthirsty section of book 4, and she hasn't even reached the ending yet. Hopefully she'll have calmed down by her visit in August! ;)
Dropped by Gertens after church today, and ended up getting a gorgeous lantana even though it was too big for my planter. Did my planting this evening--will be interesting to see how things do over the next few weeks, but it's quite nice to have more flowers.
Last but not least, some big changes today. Finally yielded to pressure and set up a Facebook page, which I promptly got locked out of! That triggered me to also set up a Gmail account, since this is the second time my usfamily.net account has failed me in sending notification e-mails, so it's time for a back-up. Right now it's just set up to forward to my usfamily.net account, but it will be nice to have as a resource. So my brother's happy I finally joined Facebook, and my coworker Corey will be happy I 'saw the light' and got a Gmail account. ;) Don't hold your breath on Twitter, though!
Yes -- angry family members are good people to have at a distance. ;)
And twitter works great if you want to update your facebook status regularly without the chaos of actually having to visit facebook. Makes you look like you're active on facebook without having to endure the headache.
