Sunday was a long day (off at 7:30 am and back after 9 pm) but it was full of delights:
Made great time up to Duluth, and the weather was cool and fabulous the whole time we spent on the North Shore.
Enjoyed a quick visit to Gooseberry Falls State Park and the gift shop there.
Got to Lemon Wolf Cafe right at noon, when it opened, and had a fantastic lunch.
Beautiful views from Palisade Head.
A fairly short, but enjoyable time at Temperance River State Park, just relaxing on the shore of Lake Superior.
Our first time checking out a few stores in the town of Two Harbors--and my prayer that my mom would get to see a Bald Eagle this weekend got answered in fantastic fashion as one flew in circles over the town while we were shopping--and certainly not looking for it!
An unexpected delight in the form of discovering a fantastic candy store in the middle of nowhere--or the unincorporated town of Knife River, to be exact.
Leaving aside the fun we had getting back home, it was a great outing!
