The last two days have brought lots of delights:

Caught up with some online browsing in the morning to the shockingly delightful discovery that Melody Pena has painted a bunch of Bengal PoadsTM! I CAN'T WAIT to add one to my PoadTM collection!

Went over to my friend Christi's place for lunch on Wednesday: got to see her house, gardens, kids, and dogs (and enjoy some great food!). It's been a long time since I was last there.

A walk at William O'Brien State Park afterward, then a drive without any wrong turns (yes, this is momentous ;) across the entire top of the metro area to the Albertville discount mall.

My mom made quite the haul escaping California sales tax on clothing purchases, and even I got a couple things at 70% off. Then we had dinner on the way back at Chipotle, with delicious Nantucket Nectars on the side, all with the wonderful gift card I got from David and Christina. =)

Thursday brought a long and enjoyable visit with my mom's friend Cindy (who we went to Glacier with, four years ago). We went for a walk down by the Mississippi in Hastings, and got to see both adult and immature Bald Eagles, vultures, lots of pelicans, great blue herons, snowy egrets, and so forth. Quite nice! And delicious homemade belgian waffles for lunch.

And for Friday...the Minnesota State Fair!!
