A good weekend:

A happy shock in the form of a bird flying across the road ahead of me as I got close to church Sunday morning. I realized on second glance it was a Pileated Woodpecker! Wow! I can count on ONE hand the number of times I've seen one of them!

Made gobs of progress with small details on my Poser t'DoL figure this weekend. Very pleased. I made a scan of the notes I've accumulated, though I'm not sure I want to know how many hours of my life it's taken to compile that list! That's what I have to do to the figure EVERY time I bring it into Vue from Poser. But now it's finally complete enough that I can let myself plan on actually starting some pictures I've been itching to do for years: story illustrations for 'The Folly of Horanu' and 'Wildfire' in particular...

Some good progress with my book 5 outline this weekend; finished chapter 2 and got rolling in chapter 3. It might not be coming fast, but at least it's still coming!
Emotional Status:
jubilant snowstorm warning!!

That is amazing. I have never seen one of those; they look so vivid, too! And any progress, writing-wise, is a good thing. Congrats!

Your icon looks happy about the snowstorm warning. I would be, too. :)

They're sure huge and noisy, as I discovered when I last saw/heard one at a bird sanctuary. But I associate them with deep woods/old growth forest, not the farmland and little woodlots I was driving past!

It was incredible! Snow coming down in buckets nearly all day, though it's mostly melted already. Just strange to have snow in the first half of October--anytime in October, really. =)

What a surprise to see a Pileated Woodpecker when you are not expecting to. What a treat. I would love to see one again.

It really was neat, though certainly not a match for your encounter by Lake Superior!

He looks like a bit of a flashy one, doesn't he? Certainly makes for a lovely surprise.

Once again I'm impressed by your dedication to t'DoL. That's quite a checklist you have there.

Yes, quite big and striking!

Thanks! Hopefully it can serve as encouragement, because the next figure I want to tackle sometime this winter is the Shado, and I fear that one might be the most hair-tearing yet!
