Lots to gush about!

The apheresis office called me to schedule an appointment Thursday, so hopefully I succeed next week and make it to five donations in 2009. (Since I'll be offline next week, that's why I'm posting this 'prematurely.')

A payday Friday is always worth celebrating! Forgot to mention it last week, but this is my second Friday of wearing jeans to work, thanks to the 12 wonderful 'Jeans Day' stickers I bought as a part of the United Way fundraiser. Jeans, eee!

Lunch was a treat today: my coworkers Shelley, Kathy, and I went to check out a 'new' bar that opened recently. (About half a year ago, considering our grasp of time ;) I had a grilled portabella sandwich, with roasted red peppers, provolone cheese, sprouts, and pesto--pretty good though I was hoping for more pesto. And my cherry coke had a real cherry in it! A fun time.

Best of all was the afternoon--it started snowing! And then the flakes got bigger and thicker and bigger and thicker until it was jumbo snow and then it still got bigger and thicker. And I had to carry on sedate conversations with my boss and coworkers while inside I was running up and down like a five-year-old screaming SNOW SNOW SNOW!!! And then I realized it wasn't yet 2:00 break...heh heh. So at 2:00 I went out bareheaded and walked around the block getting plastered with snow and having big gobs splat into my jeans like wet paint and it was very good--then I joined my coworker Dawn who was out smoking in back and the snow was so wet and heavy it was coming down on her umbrella like the sound of huge raindrops. Just fantastic! Daresay it's probably the best 2:00 break in my nearly 12 years of 2:00 breaks...

And then tonight I made a great start on chapter 5 in book 5, and got more down than I was feeling up to. It all makes for a great Friday, thank you God!
