It was lovely to have Monday off:

Wonderful to get goodies in the mail from my mom: fruitcake and cookies, yum! =D

Had an apheresis donation scheduled for 3:15 in the afternoon, and I succeeded!

The Red Cross center is probably only about half a mile from the Taco House (and Boca Chica). I'd long thought of treating myself after a donation, but I'm hardly interested in eating when I get done at 9:30 pm! So Monday's earlier donation time was perfect: treated myself to a cheese enchilada with guacamole and chips. YUM!

Best of all, got rolling with a little book 5 writing after I got back home. Nice to be moving again there!

Congratulations on the book 5 progress! That's lovely news.

I notice that your mum sends you food through the mail a lot. I've always wondered... how does it travel? I mean does it arrive still fresh and relatively undamaged?

Good news about the apheresis donation. Does that make it the second of the year?

My mom sends the food in a Priority Mail flat-rate box, so she doesn't have to pay more for the weight. Usually it just takes 2-3 days to get there, and since the cookies/fruitcake/lemonbread or whatever is wrapped up, it stays nice and moist. Doesn't work for stuff like lentil soup, chili, or applesauce, however--that I have to bring back in my luggage, as overnight mail is far too expensive to be worth it.

No, only the first donation of 2010. They just had to call in January on the week I had my whole blood donation scheduled! ;P

Thanks! I've been a space cadet lately and keep forgetting to ask you--are you still interested in reading book 4 sometime, or are things still too busy? Just let me know, whenever.

That is very thoughtful of your mum. It seems like kindness is a family trait.

I must have misremembered the whole blood donation as an apheresis. It seems like it has been a great year for you on the donation front.

I would love to still read book 4, but I hope you don't mind if I ask you to hold off sending it a bit longer. Things are very hectic around here right now. I'm hoping that in a couple of weeks time it will be a little quieter. I shall be sure to send you a message when I'm ready. Thank you so much for remembering to ask me, though. I am quite looking forward to reading it sometime soon.

*blush* Thanks, it definitely is with her!

It's certainly off to a good start! And I have another apheresis appointment already scheduled for March, so it will be nice to have a longer lead-in with taking supplements.

Certainly don't mind! I know between the move and the anthology you've been extremely busy of late. Let me know whenever you're ready (cause I'm bound to forget again ;).
