It has been a very nice (if too short!) trip:
Lots of excitement planning me and my mom's longer trip to Crater Lake and the Oregon coast this summer.
A great time at my brother and sister-in-law's Sunday evening, great homemade pizza AND homemade onion rings (and great leftovers Tuesday)! Can't forget hunting for monsters, spiders, and pillbugs with flashlights in the backyard with my two nieces and two of my nephews!
A fantastic time at Point Reyes on Monday. Enough winding, narrow roads that I'm good 'till August ;) and gobs and gobs of gorgeous wildflowers, as well as fantastic ocean views (photos forthcoming). Very beautiful place; my brother's taste is to be commended. ;) (And thanks to his tips, didn't make a single wrong turn out there!)
A really neat exhibit Tuesday morning called 'From the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Bible in America,' complete with tiny pieces of the Dead Sea scrolls, as well as a Gutenberg Bible, early folios and quartos of the King James Bible, the Eliot Indian Bible, many more besides, and--a Bible on microfilm that was sent to the moon! (Gotta tell my previous boss about that one! *geeks*)
It certainly did! Now it's also been added to Mama's long-list-of-places-she-wants-to-spend-t
And yes, I'd like to go back too for a long visit, where I don't have to spend about 7 hours driving in one day!
Delighted to hear that! =D It's been a 'dream destination' of mine for many years now, I'm getting excited about finally getting there!
It was a nice appetite-whetter as well, since the Science Museum in St Paul has a much larger (and more expensive) Dead Sea Scroll exhibit going on I want to get out to around my birthday.
It certainly was! Trip was too short--usually when I'm there longer, my art/writing bug makes me want to come home, but this time I wasn't gone long enough!
It's going to be in the latter part of August, so it feels far off now, but I'm sure it will come quickly. =)
