Oh what a beautiful morning!
It was a delightful walk to the bus stop this morning. Birds were stirring everywhere. House finches were twittering, chickadees flitting about, red-winged blackbirds caroling from perches in trees. Overhead, mallards and Canada geese traversed the sky. And to the east, the rising sun sent a pillar of orange fire piercing into the sky above it--perhaps the only physical sign of the storm descending later today.
It was gorgeous, all the more vivid because of my knowing that there might be as much as 6 inches of snow down by the middle of Wednesday...
