This might be incoherent, but:
I'm grateful I got us (my mom and I) back from our Santa Barbara trip before my vertigo got so bad I couldn't drive or really walk straight.
Very grateful for the various over-the-counter and prescription stuff I've gotten to kill the vertigo-induced nausea. Haven't done any more throwing up since Friday morning thanks to that, and though I haven't had an appetite since mid-Wednesday, at least I can now force down two small meals a day and have them stay where they belong. Thank God!
Grateful for my parents' church friends and others with advice, and especially finding out about a local urgent-care clinic that was open New Year's Day which I could go to, and avoid the living horror stories that are the California ERs.
Also grateful I have a direct flight home on Tuesday since I don't know how I'd cope with a layover. This spoiled Minnesotan will be glad to get back to the land of the Mayo clinic and her own doctor.
The one good thing about being this sick is that even though I've done little but be in bed with my eyes closed since Friday, at least I don't get bored or restless!
I'm glad I had most of my 2010 year-in-review post filled out in advance, and got it up New Year's Eve despite all this 'fun.' God only knows how late my 'monthly summary' post will be--or trip photos, for that matter.
One thing is certain--this is a New Year's I won't ever be forgetting! ;P
