Some good things...
Got an e-mail from Amazon.com today--my binoculars shipped! Wonderful, as the estimate had been that they wouldn't ship until later in May. Just maybe, I might get them by the weekend when I go to Eloise Butler again...
Got a very kind card from my mom with a darling picture of kittens on the front. THANK YOU!!
And since I moved the Kittywalk Condo out of the cat room and set it up outside on Sunday, I took the big box that came with my new feather mattress, cut a hole in one side, and put that in the cat room instead. Shado is loving it--sometimes the cheapest gifts are the best ones!
I was momentarily confused by your last question, until I recalled the cover photo. Nope, they wouldn't talk on the phone, but they do seem to get a kick out of stepping on the answering machine buttons at times (or unplugging it).
Only briefly lay on the feather bed. I want to get a cover for it before I start using it. Thanks to the advice you passed along from Christina, I got the kind with a pure down top portion, so I don't get poked by the 95% feathers in the bottom portion. I could already see a few sticking out.

isn't it funny? i know the kids love to play with boxes...and it seems that they always make a toy out of something that's not. (you can ask your mom about that! she was over today and elly was playing on the fence motor box -- she commonly does that -- but ended up with a scrape on her knee and now she thinks that she can no longer walk with that leg!)
i hope your week brings you bundles of more unexpected blessings. we love you!
*smiles* The other portion that leads from the cat door to the condo is called 'Kittywalk Curves.' If I wanted to drop $200 or so, I could get them the 'Kittywalk Town and Country'...but they act spoiled enough as it is. ;)
That's right; Arun essentially ignores the Kittywalk when it's indoors for the winter, though Shado does clamber around from time to time (he likes scaling the OUTSIDE!). I've had big boxes for them in the past, just don't have the space in the winter when the condo and my huge schleffera get dragged indoors.
