A hodgepodge to round off the weekend...

I got my proofs for the 'Never Alone' print already!! Since it's my first time printing a big project from my new monitor, I paid extra to get proofs to make sure the results wouldn't be off in color. And they mailed them out real fast--and my monitor isn't too 'off' either, which is great.

One nice side-effect of the latest DDOS attack on LJ is that each of my four paid accounts get two free extra weeks. Considering I'm only really posting in two of them at present, sure feels like a treat to me!

Due to car issues, I considered myself 'grounded' this weekend and didn't drive anywhere. So I ended up just getting out for a local 6.2 mile/10 km walk (from 6:15-8:00 am), since it was finally cool enough this morning. Wasn't expecting to see much, but I did! First, a mother deer with twin half-grown fawns. Then a man walking a Bedlington Terrier--not a dog I tend to see outside of dog shows. After that, an albino squirrel, my first in years. Last but not least, a single wild turkey--we walked by each other on opposite sides of the narrow road and he wasn't fazed. Thought I was in Narnia there for a moment... ;)

Can't forget the sweet familiar chirping of crickets. I do love that sound, especially because in my mind it means that summer is finally waning, not waxing. Autumn cometh...

Sounds like you had a wonderful walk. What a nice treat.

Yes, it was nice to get out for some exercise since the previous weekend was far too hot.

It's being done by American Frame, which was recommended by an artist I know who uses their services a fair bit. It's out for delivery today! Hopefully I won't have to go pick it up.
