Recent good stuff:
I got great airfare (and a direct flight too!) to visit family in May. But not without a little excitement. On Tuesday I casually did my daily price check while running a search in IDM Find. I was shocked to find that fantastic offer which let me extend my trip a day by flying back on a Saturday, of all days. So of course I jumped right on it, filled everything out...and my browser crashed when I tried to purchase. There had been other tabs opened, so I tried again with just Travelocity open...and it crashed again at the very same spot! I was ready to have a heart attack or chuck my pc across the room! I KNEW it was because of the old obsolete Explorer 7 browser my employer refuses to update, that works right with fewer and fewer websites each month. Thank God, I remembered that a tech person had brought a Windows 7 device into my area just the day before to do testing--so I scurried over there and got on that and surreptitiously purchased my airfare with no hitches on the IE 8 browser--hallelujah!! (Then I needed half an hour to get my blood pressure back to normal ;)
Tuesday also brought treats in the form of the Credit Union associated with my employer having an open house. Dawn and I went over at 9. My mom had already told me that muffins don't count against my no-sweets Lent fast (unless they're chocolate or something like that) so I got to have a lemon poppyseed small muffin, a croissant, and some slices of strawberry and kiwi with grapes. What a lovely brunch!
And then Tuesday evening I snagged the very last box of eggplant cutlets at Trader Joe's before heading to my women's group. Yay!
Can't wait to see you -- so glad the flight worked out!!
David told me to tell you, in regards to the operating system problems, that there are portable apps that let you use an operating system from a usb device without installing it on the computer. Or something like that. Maybe that would help?
