Hurrah for a payday Friday!
I indulged myself Wednesday, as I had a bunch of stuff to bring to work, which meant driving in, but I didn't want to subject myself to the long walk hauling a bulky load when the forecast was for 94 F/34 C with a nasty heat index on top of it. So I paid the $8 to park in the climate-controlled company ramp...and it was worth every cent! No long miserable walk, no boiling hot car to make me sick, just a quick, cool trip home and back earlier than normal too. I could get used to that. ;)
And today, Shelley and I had lunch at the new Mexican place we've been watching (and drooling over) while it was under construction the past few months. It's called 'La Loma Tamales' and it was fantastic. I had a veggie tamale and a sweet corn one, both were excellent, while my side of rice reminded me of Puerto Rico--authentic seasoning! Delicious, and we are certainly going back!
The heat wave has continued from Wednesday and looks fit to blight the entire coming workweek...but I am still quite grateful that at least Thursday and today the dewpoint was very low. I haven't forgotten the record-setting dewpoints last summer, ewww! And at least there's not much rain in the forecast!
It's actually right across the skyway from where I work--could hardly be closer! That's why I've been watching, as I pass it every time I go to the ATM or the Farmer's Market. The lines to order were crazy all week because it's the new big thing.
Thanks! I'm glad to be inside, because there's another inversion and it smells like the city dump outside again. =P It was really bad walking home last Tuesday, I think it was. I'm ready to move!
