A trio of triumphs and a blessed reprieve:
On Thursday I succeeded with my fourth platelet donation for the year, yay! Hopefully I can squeeze in a few more before September, despite the craziness of this summer.
Also on Thursday, the Kofax fax and e-mail server that has given me so much grief for 9 months...was fixed by marking a little checkbox somewhere. I KNEW it would be something ridiculously simple as that. Feels so weird to come into work and not have to instantly launch into dealing with around 100 errors first thing...feels very weird.
And on Friday I had a full afternoon for more testing on Sarin's machine, for which I'm very glad, because I finally got the job remake (which I had to do three times over) to a point where it's slightly better than the original, and it appears I've finally come across the right combination of remake/software version to fix the issue. At last!
Heh, here Friday was supposed to be the end of the heat wave...and then they raised the forecast to 95 F/35 C. And then I checked the temps before leaving work--and it was 102 F/39 C with a 110 F/43 C heat index! AUGH! Snuck out one minute early, but the places that sold smoothies were all closed. At least I had the neckband my mom gave me and my last smoothie mix at home to cool me down. And last evening, THE HEATWAVE FINALLY ENDED!!1! So nice to open the windows this morning and get the window fan going--it has been too long!
