Payday Friday was great because I could get out some cash and buy myself some frozen sweet corn tamales from La Loma Tamales. And it paid off fast, as I brought two along to have with a tv dinner for lunch during my 6.5 hours at work on Saturday.
On my way to work Saturday, I stopped at Gertens and got a lovely poinsetta. See, I don't have money for a Christmas tree, don't have time to decorate it, and won't be around to enjoy it anyway. So a cheerful poinsetta on my desk will be my 'Christmas tree' for this year. =)
Sunday morning brought a delight--really thick and heavy fog. It was gorgeous, and such a treat to drive around in.
Best of all, on Sunday evening I kicked off the Shado-novel (TFE for the acronym) and got the prologue written. It will be VERY slow going, between lacking time and the very challenging setting, but it is wonderful to have it rolling at last!
I remember the beautiful poinsetta they have a Gerten. Taking it to
work is ideal way to enjoy it.
I got a real pine wreath at Costco that I have over the fireplace. But nothing like the ones
I used to get at Gerten.
I am glad to hear you are writing another novel but I have to say Shado is
not one my favorites.
It adds a lot! =) They have a lot of varieties, but I went with the 'traditional' kind, except it has some red glitter on the 'flowers.' Nice touch!
I bet it smells like the Gerten wreaths, though! That's what I will miss in not getting a tree.
At least it is not a whole novel about the Black Prince! ;)
