Friday morning at the park and ride while waiting for the bus, I got regalled by a cascade of lovely birdsong. It sounded quite like a brown thrasher, but I had to stare and crane my head for quite a while before I spotted him--there were a bunch of us all trying to find him, even though he was in the nearest tree. Quite a treat!
Saturday I got my flower shopping wrapped up and finished my planting, which feels great. My black-eyed susan vine seeds are starting to sprout as well, fun to see.
The weather was ghastly this weekend, torrential rains each morning which meant I never got out for a long walk, and storms throughout the day. So it was quite a blessing to have the clouds roll back after church Sunday, and the sun come out, so a bunch of us could get vegetables planted in the church community garden (which grows fresh produce for local food shelves). Planted lots of tomatoes and cabbages, while others helped with beans, eggplants, asparagus, and mulch and other things. I still got pretty filthy with mud, however. =)
Best of all, my writing progress over the weekend got me past the 50,000 word mark!
