The workweek has felt quite long working to 6 each day, but there have been some bright spots:
The lemon bread my wonderful mom made for me has been a treat, since I've been bringing a piece to work and having it late in the afternoon. Helps with not getting to have dinner until 7 or so!
It takes around 10-15 minutes to set up or take down all my light blocks now, but between that and the blessing of central air, it has been amazing to sleep nearly to 5 a couple of days this week. I would not have imagined that could happen (without a sleeping pill) so close to the solstice!
It's good to know that I can hear the tornado alarms clearly at my new place. They went off twice this week (for powerful straight-line winds in both instances) and the second time was at 3:40 this morning (no luck sleeping after that!). It's a blessing, since I have a coworker who can't hear them at all when her windows are closed.
And today brings the summer solstice, hurrah! So good to know that the nights will start getting longer again, though it will be a while before I can feel the difference...
In the middle of the night last night, I got to thinking about the summer solstice... couldn't remember if it was this month or next month. So glad to hear we've hit it, for that means my kids will start sleeping a wee bit longer now... ;)
