It is so nice to have autumn weather finally arrive and get to sleep on my futon again. Great timing too, as my air mattress started deforming last week, and now I have until next spring to buy a new one.
I have been so crazy busy between work and trying to get ready for my mom coming, that I completely forgot about planning dinners for this week (this is unusual for me). But on Monday afternoon, our floor got regaled by a horde of leftovers from some catered meal for another department that must have been way too large. Not only did I get to feast on a wonderful fresh salad, but I got to take home a bag of pasta that will feed me for two evenings--exactly what I needed! What a blessing from heaven!
I have been extremely stressed out over my job, due to not getting nearly as much done last week, or on Saturday, that I needed, as well as the stress of a meeting to lead Monday where I had no clue what to do. But thank God, the meeting went very well, and I've managed to get enough done between yesterday and today that I don't feel I've completely failed the Annuities department due to the Individual department devouring an excess of my time. Whew, what a relief!
Best of all, an unexpected treasure in my mail box on Monday. It was a lovely note from my wonderful aunt, who has read The Chronicles of Delarun and was so kind as to write me about how much she enjoyed it. I can't imagine a gift more precious than such warm feedback on one of my novels. =D
