On Monday, my mom and I took the three oldest of my brother's kids, and we went to the BounceU in Roseville. I'm grateful to my coworker Sarah for giving me the idea to look for places like that near Sacramento. It was very busy due to school being off this week, but they all had a blast.
Then that evening my brother and sister-in-law treated me out to dinner to celebrate finishing 'TFE' and I chose their favorite local Mexican joint (the rule was that I couldn't pick anything I could go to in Minnesota). The food was fabulous...and then after that we went to the nice Roseville Mall and looked at dishwashers, hah hah. Can't forget Krispy Kreme donuts at the end; delicious!
On Tuesday morning I got to meet some of my mom's local friends who get together daily at a nearby park (some for walking, others like my mom because they have dogs). One of them is 94! It was great to meet them and put faces to names I've heard over the years.
Wednesday my mom and I checked out the Cosumnes River Preserve (plenty of migrating waterfowl, including some cranes) and then finally got over to the Vacaville Premium Outlets, which we've been meaning to do for years. Nice place, and I think my mom bought out half of the kids clothes. ;)
Even though the winter rainy season should be starting up around now, we've been blessed with some gorgeous sunny weather. And tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day!
P.S: Congrats to my parents on 42 years of marriage today!
