What a week!
Quite an amazing cold snap the first half of the week. By my thermostat, it was -22 Monday morning, -11 Tuesday morning, and -6 Wednesday morning. Tuesday and afterward I did my normal 1.4 mile walk to the park and ride, which helped keep me warm. And I saw something fun--my face would 'smoke' when I got to my destination and moved my scarf to knock all the ice off my eyebrows, hair, eyelashes, etc. Not just my breath was smoking, but my skin, due to the massive temperature differential and the extreme dryness of the cold air, I'm guessing. Quite entertaining!
Got blessed with an entertaining dream as well. For some reason I cannot fathom, t'DoL was writing equations describing the spread of a zombie invasion on some tiled bathroom wall. (I was trying to get a photo with my cell phone because I didn't have my camera along, but I was too slow since people were asking questions and wanted more math.)
I moved my main pc Tertius up to my dining room back when the memory cards fried, as it would be far too cold to stay in the basement this winter. Ever since, I've noticed increasing issues with wireless connectivity. Well, not until this week did I finally put it together--my microwave 3 feet away was trashing my wireless adapter reception. Wow! Hopefully by next winter I'll be able to get myself a desk for upstairs, but at least now I'm not fuming at my ISP/phone company anymore!
Fuming aptly describes the workweek. It was truly awful. I'm grateful God answered my prayers and helped me get through the first two testing meetings without getting defensive, angry, or having any other sort of meltdown. It's been a debacle (or maybe I just wanted to use that word) because the people who made the rules and the people who are testing my configurations have VERY different expectations, with the result that a lot has to be torn up, tweaked, or redone. An extremely depressing workweek, especially as I'd been hoping for a two-day weekend.
But at least Friday was payday! And 'TFE' verbal edits have been progressing well too.
