On Sunday I drove out to work, not because I was there to work, but to get my coworker Greg's desk all decked out with balloons, confetti, banners, 'caution tape' for his 40th birthday...
And on Monday was the big day. He got surprised by the decorations, and then later on Sarah brought down a Duck Dynasty cake with 'Happy Happy Happy Birthday' on it, and gave him a card crammed with signatures and smart remarks about the milestone, and of course we had to sing to him. Poor guy was so red in the face, but he loved it. =)
Now that winter is winding down (theoretically, as we might get six inches of snow with this coming storm), it has been such a treat to have the buses less crammed on Mondays and Fridays in particular. On those days I've gotten to read from my novels on Frogmouth both going to and returning from work, instead of just returning, which is quite a treat.
On Tuesday Dawn did an April Fool's 'weird food day', where we all had to try out the 'potato chip ketchup sandwiches' she's been going on about for a long time. Nancy also participated, mostly to get Dawn to screw up the courage to try out some hummus and chips, which doesn't really count as 'weird food' for the rest of us! And a lot of people came up with excuses not to participate, hah hah.
On Wednesday I got airfare to visit family, less than two months from now. Quite excited about that!
