Lots happening lately:

It's been a busy, fun few days. Wednesday Dawn and I got together with my former boss Bill for lunch and we had a good time. But Friday was the high point of the workweek, as I got to have lunch at El Barrio with Shelley, whom I haven't seen in quite a few months. It was really good to catch up and find out how she's doing.

Saturday morning was breakfast with my mom's friend Cindy, as she's planning a trip to Washington and Oregon, and wanted to hear my recommendations from my experiences on my Oregon trip, already four years ago. It was great to see her too.

Then came Saturday night! My boss had very kindly given me a pair of free tickets for the St Paul Chamber orchestra, so I met up with Dawn beforehand, and we had dinner at a new place for us called Wild Tymes. Then we went to the concert (Haydn's 'Clock' symphony was my favorite piece). After that, I drove her home, and got to SEE her home (let's just say she has wonderfully unique tastes/collections, and even though I've been trying to imagine it for years it still fell short) and didn't get home until 11:30 pm. It was a nice night, despite the rain.

And today was special too, as it was Shado's eleventh birthday. (So glad he's doing so well!) To celebrate the occasion (or perhaps I simply unnerved him by my very late arrival last night) Shado lost his mind and sat on my lap twice during the afternoon. Can't blame it on his heated bed not working either! He has never gotten onto my lap and camped out like a "normal" cat except 2-3 times years back when I was watching a movie. Maybe he's plotting something...

I need another weekend to recuperate from this weekend, and I'm grateful the upcoming week looks pretty uneventful, if way too rainy.
