It has been warm lately, getting into the 80s every day, which is more like July temperatures, so I am again very grateful for my wonderful central air, without which I would not have gotten much of anything done this weekend.
Glad to have finally finished both of my maps of Eskaldaen that I needed for writing 'Fritillary,' even though doing them has given me the urge to do a more 3-d/topographical representation of the city...
I never win things, at least not things I want or can use, so I was very shocked on Tuesday to come to work and find that I'd won a Target gift card from the drawing at Friday's ice cream social. It was the only one of the three prizes that even interested me--what a treat!
Saw a rainbow on my way home from work Tuesday, low and faint, but still wonderful.
It actually got cool enough, and my flight was in the afternoon, so I was able to get out for a 'quick' four mile walk Wednesday morning. Tried to smell every lilac bush I could reach, and had a treat when I found a new type of lilac I'd never seen before, with big vivid flowers outlined in white. My camera was already packed, but I looked it up online and found it's called "Sensation." Wish I had a yard for one of my own, but it's blessing enough having so many varieties of lilacs in walking distance.
Happy that though my first flight got off the ground a little late, it made good time and we landed early. Also happy that Pheonix is NOT my destination, as it's 101 out there! A blessing from heaven that it will be 80s for at least the first part of my visit to Sacramento, rather than 90s or worse.
