It's been a somewhat odd week, but not without its bright spots:

Had a delicious dinner with the Towners at Cracker Barrel on Tuesday evening--change in venue because their driveway and yard are a wreck because of the shed they're getting constructed. A very nice time!

Lovely to have a plunge into autumn weather and some really cool nights for a couple days. I plugged in Shado's heated bed Wednesday, for which he's been grateful.

I was blessed to get a direct flight and nice price with my airfare ticket to visit family in Florida this Christmas. Thank you, God!

An incredible morning. Walking to the park and ride, the sky was almost completely cloudy, with just a line of color near the horizon, so I thought there wouldn't be much of a sunrise. A minute or so later, I noticed an odd lurid glare on the back of a street sign, looked over, and was blown away. Stunning, vivid color all over the east--like a wind-whipped sea bearing waves capped with fire instead of foam. And a narrow streak of pale yellow-green sky at the horizon for emphatic emphasis. That was amazing enough, but I happened to look west as I approached the park and ride lot--and there was a pillar of "fire" on the horizon! I couldn't believe it was part of a rainbow, because the colors were all warm, yet it was in the wrong spot for a sundog. So it had to be a piece of a rainbow like I saw last week, yet unlike any rainbow I've seen before. Simply magnificent!

Succeeded with my third whole blood donation for the year today, hurrah!

Yes, quite a blessing!

Oh yes, I remember we had a good time there with Elsie and Hector on our last visit.

I'm very grateful since I've had trouble with my iron level this summer.
