Tuesday was not a happy day, as a planned upgrade didn't go well and had to be rolled back, but...Carol bought us all huge fresh chocolate chip cookies!
Wednesday morning was the wonder of the week. I was blessed to have clear skies, and a fantastic view of the lunar eclipse right through the patio door on my deck. Got up early at 4:15 so I could see the beginning, looked at it throughout its progress, and then best of all, got to do my regular 1.4 mile walk to the park and ride with the eclipse starting to end at my right. What a fabulous walk--I doubt I'll ever have such a treat again. And it made for good "memories" too: of the lunar eclipse before dawn in book 4 that Geren saw with the Wolf-Lord, of the eclipse he watches with t'DoL in early book 5 by the sea-cliffs of Bivord, and the sense of the light growing and growing when it finally ended. Can't forget the Shado, and the second eclipse it sees, the second of the tetrad like this one, albeit from a very different perspective. It was wonderful.
Such a blessing to have a library system where I can request a book a few weeks before it's actually in print, so I won't have to wait in line very long. Quite eager to get my greedy paws on the latest Abhorsen book by Garth Nix, and the new book on prayer by Timothy Keller.
Lastly, hurrah for a three day weekend!
