Setting aside the temperatures, it was a pretty nice weekend!
I was blessed to have one of the two monitors I'd been watching on Amazon drop by over $100 the day before I got my PSP money. Excitedly placed the order, then was shocked when I got home from work Friday to find a FedEx sticker on my door, already! FedEx came by again on Saturday, so I got my lovely new monitor one day after my PSP, talk about speed. Just getting that thing set up and turned on showed me how bad my old monitor was. I'm looking forward to getting it calibrated and ready for art projects!
It was -10 outside Sunday morning, with a wind chill of -30, and the cardinal was singing like it was May. Wonderful to hear him, and also a fantastic and inspiring symbol of unshakable faith. Spring will come.
Got my taxes done this weekend, except for the Use Tax, which will take more work this year. Regardless of how much that costs me, I am looking forward to a very nice refund. Thank you, God!! Also happy that after years of anticipation, I finally reached the 5-figure mark with reported charitable contributions for my itemized deductions. What a treat--reporting those gets me a bigger refund, of which I take a chunk to donate, and that gets on the list for next year's taxes, ha ha!
Up to chapter 12 with my Geren book 1 rewrites, and in the middle of the parts that require the most work. Got another additional scene added which was small by itself, but one that will ripple forward in its impact on Geren through at least two more books, joy. I have another small scene to add, at least, and then the biggest new scene to tackle will be coming up, hopefully next weekend. (Copper and Jajey in cahoots makes for an interesting spectacle!)
