Another busy weekend:
Fun at work Friday. The real 'Pi Day' fell on Saturday, so instead we celebrated "Pie Day the 13th." It was fun to indulge in lots of sweets, especially in the middle of Lent!
On Saturday morning I got out early and was at Afton State Park when it opened at 8. The paths were free of snow and ice (but not mud) so I was able to do a nice long 11 mile walk over most of the park. (Alas, my feet decided they hated my hiking shoes at the 6 mile mark.) Got to see some deer, lots of chickadees, cardinals, red-bellied woodpeckers and nuthathes, downy and hairy woodpeckers, a glimpse of a pileated woodpecker, just one bald eagle (as the St Croix was still frozen over), and my first pheasant in quite a while. I definitely worked off all of Friday's pies!
On Sunday I sat down and hashed out my Use Tax for 2014, which was messier than prior years because of Amazon.com taxing SOME items mailed to California starting sometime in 2014, and SOME items mailed to Minnesota starting much later in the year. Ugh! Very glad to have it over with and know how much of my tax return I get to keep, after filing fees, donations, and Use Tax.
Very happy to get unstuck with Geren book 1 revisions, since I was able to get the extra scene written Saturday evening. (Copper is having too much fun with these extra scenes ;) Been picking up speed since then, and hopefully I can keep it up during this week...
