It was great to have a 3-day weekend after getting back from roasting in Idaho. Gave me plenty of time to unpack, catch up with laundry, pedal 40 miles on the exercise bike, let Shado calm down...and I got lots of pass 5 work with Geren book 1 done also. Past 80% now!
My delphiniums were blooming like mad when I got back, but the greater shock was to find the purple morning glories going as well. I've never grown that variety before, and apparently it's a lot less fussy than 'Heavenly Blue.'
What a blessing to have a BLUE sky on Tuesday! Friday it was white, and Saturday morning it was grey with a orange sun...then Monday after all the rain, the smoke from poor burning Canada got so bad it seemed like fog (and the smell was intense!). So what a blessing for cleaner air, at least for a day or two.
What a treat, after some torrential rain, to get two days in July with lows in the 50s and highs only in the 70s (barely on Tuesday). Grateful for any reprieve at all from awful summer, especially after my 'vacation.'
