Feel like I'm late with EVERYTHING, but there were some delights this past weekend:
Saturday was gorgeous. I made my first trip up to the Mille Lacs Lake area since 2011, and visited two state parks there. Did a nice hike of over 7.5 miles at the first park, and sat by the lake on a bench and read at the second. The autumn color in the area was amazing, and I really enjoyed the views heading eastward on my way back. Also got to enjoy a lovely sunrise as I headed out at 7:00 that morning, complemented by a beautiful sunset in the evening. Spotted two bald eagles (one 'frolicking' over the trees across the highway from Aaron's church) and two pileated woodpeckers.
Sunday was ghastly hot with record-setting temperatures, so a perfect day to head to the movie theater. I got to see The Martian, which I quite enjoyed, savored even the more by getting to see it free thanks to earning enough points, and grabbing my favorite shady spot under the hackberry tree.
Grateful I still had my air mattress inflated, because I really needed it Sunday night.
Finally finished watching all 12 sessions of the Truth Project that my parents kindly loaned me. It was great, and also good for training myself to pedal decently on the exercise bike even when I'm not watching something suspenseful.
Never have as much time as I want for writing, or moving as fast as I want, but at least DWoT is slowly rolling ahead. I created a progress tracker at my Triune LJ, mostly for an excuse to use my hyarmi illustrations from years back!
So glad the nasty heat is behind, and the first frost should be coming soon, at last!
