Shado is doing great! I weaned him off the pain meds Friday without a hitch...starting to think that he needed me home to relax and get the healing sleep he needed, poor guy. On Saturday night (well, Sunday morning at 1:30 am) he finally felt good enough to join me in bed for the first time since I got back, for some happy purring, grooming, joyfest time. That was wonderful. And today he survived his first day with me back at work--he knew what was up just from my morning schedule.
Having four extra days (and then a full weekend) at home has been quite a blessing. I made huge progress on my art project, and I also made good progress with the final round of tweaks to my first Geren book as well, and got my toe in the water with DWoT progress. It was very nice not to have to rush straight back to work for once!
While I was getting out my Christmas decorations, I was delighted to find a big unused jar candle by Colonial of my favorite pine scent--I'd bought it years ago for $30 and now I get to enjoy it!
It was a treat to spot two bald eagles sitting in a tree right by the bridge on the way to church...and they were still there on my way back. Most winters by now the wetlands would probably be too frozen over for them to hang around.
