Even though the huge forecasted blizzard didn't leave a speck of snow where I live, at least it brought more normal temperatures. I've been enjoying some nice sleeping temps again, and I'd better make the most of it before I'm off to hot Florida!
Perhaps thanks in part to the timing of my vacation, I escaped my least favorite job-related task of the year. I don't have to write my own performance appraisal, hurrah!
I've been burning the candle at both ends the past week-plus, trying to cram through the final round of edits to the first Triune novel based on Sharon's feedback, then do a verbal review of the entire novel. Early in the morning and late in the evening and many hours on Saturday, and I made it. Feels great to have that wrapped up and be ready (finally!) to start building the chapter outline for the second Triune novel when I get back from my vacation in March.
Glad I was able to get to the hospital to see Mary after church on Sunday and over a long lunch on Monday. It was a good visit both times. On Monday I found she'd actually escaped her room and was in the nearby waiting room that has a great view of the state capitol. Joe's brother John came a little later on, and I ran across Aaron as I was heading out. The nutritionist stopped by while I was there, and hopefully having Mary drink some protein shakes will help get her the calories she needs to heal when she has no appetite and the hospital food...isn't winning any awards and might actually be worse than my cooking. ;) I hope they help!
