A very nice last day with my mom...
Slow-paced and not lots of rushing around like yesterday. But we did go out to see Pixar's Ratatouille at the movies. The theater was celebrating Independence Day--we got little flags, free small bags of popcorn, and coke t-shirts.
I LOVE Pixar's shorts! 'For the Birds' will always be my favorite, but 'Lifted' that played before Ratatouille had me in stitches. This visual language-hater is always thrilled by how much can be conveyed with nary a word (or by hopping lamps!).
It was fun listening to patriotic music on the classical station while my mom packed in the afternoon. I so love 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic.'
And marvel of marvels, my mom was ready early and we headed off to the airport early. Hopefully she'll catch her connecting flight in Denver just fine, but I'm not staying up to 1 am to 'see' her arrival in Sacramento with a 5:20 am get-up time for work tomorrow!
Most of all, I'm grateful to God for how well my mom's visit went...and she got to pet Shado a few times more (he was downright mushy, for him, Tuesday night!)...the cats did so well with her there. It was wonderful, leaving aside the catch-up on sundry fronts I need to dive into now...
