Recent joys:

Saturday was a great day for making homemade granola. Not that hot and nothing in my schedule, and I figured out what temperature and time my oven needs since it's quite different from the oven at my prior home.

The catalpas are blooming! The catalpas are blooming!

Really blessed Sunday because the sermon was exactly what I needed to hear, when I needed to hear it.

When I walked out of work Monday, it was only around 70 with low humidity--it felt like late September! Delicious, though my poor carcass got all excited thinking fall was coming but summer has just started. What a nice treat after how excessively hot the first part of June was!

Treated myself on my birthday week by cooking the empanadas my wonderful aunt sent home with me after my trip to Florida. They were great with some Cuban-style black beans and rice. =)

Another Monday treat--finished pass 4 through my third Geren book. Ahead of schedule, whoot! Since pass 5 is reading the entire book aloud, I'll start that off this weekend. Very pleased with my progress.

Last but far from least--had a wonderful early birthday meal at Boca Chica Tuesday night with the Towners and also and Mary's sister and her husband visiting from Texas. The food was delicious and it was a great time.
