A special treat Tuesday--an "ice cream social" on the thirteenth floor patio, which nobody in my area had been out on before. Warm enough for me to enjoy ice cream, and beautiful views.
A happy discovery on Amazon this week--Martha Wells has published two more Raksura books and I didn't know! I'm quite looking forward to whenever I have time/money to sink my teeth into those!
I too often forget what I've seen by the time I get to work, let alone back home. But I finally remembered to do a little research about the birds I've seen while waiting for the bus. And what I'd carelessly mistaken for swallows at first--well some of them are definitely chimney swifts. Wish I could tell my younger self who really wanted to see swifts but only spotted swallows.
What a treat to have a rainy cold front move in so that it was 50s heading home on Thursday. I actually felt cold! It will be a joy to have a couple days of below average temps before normal August weather returns.
Last week was one of those 'why am I still employed everything I touch breaks' kind of work weeks. But this week was the week of cleaning up the messes. I am so grateful to God for light-bulb moments and ingenious solutions in answer to prayer. By Friday afternoon, got back to just one 'can't replicate and can't fix' issue remaining, and that one's been dragging around for months. What a relief to find solutions for the rest of them!
Happiness is getting the contract for editing the third Geren book, getting it printed and signed with the cashiers check and into the mail. Looking forward to this autumn when my editor reviews it!
