Ah, I'm thankful it's a Friday. And that my appetite has been a fair bit better this week than the past few.
A bit of fun at work today. Dawn and I were over at Greg's desk (my fellow Administrator), having fun chewing him out for something he forgot to do yesterday. Up comes Gloria and shoves a dead cockroach in Greg's face. (She had it in a tissue.) He didn't appreciate that at ALL, though he tried not to let on how much he disliked it. He gets up and she deposits it on his chair. Meanwhile Dawn is freaking out and has fled the premises. (She was jumping at everything for the rest of the day; hopefully a weekend will get her nerves to settle.) So, to rescue poor Greg, I pick up the cockroach in its tissue and take it over to show it to my boss so she can make the appropriate phone calls. She wanted it kept, so I took it back to my desk and put it in a plastic bag for safekeeping.
For a time I was 'keeper of the cockroach,' and greatly amused that no one even got near my desk.
Not for long though, before I brought it back over to Greg's area and gave it to a maintenance fellow who said he was going to dip it in chocolate and have it for dessert.
*smiles* And they'd never guess I have a mild phobia of dead bugs by the way I acted. I'm getting better by the year, I am. I'm also tempted to leave a large, plastic cockroach on Greg's chair someday. ;)
Moving out on my own and not having my mom around to pick up dead bugs for me has definitely helped. (She dealt with the bugs, and I picked up mouse parts the cat left behind.) I'll never like it, but at least my stomach doesn't turn inside out so easily now. But I would have been happier if the cockroach was alive. =P
Awww! I hope it starts showing signs of fall over here, but I expect it will be a few weeks yet.
*hugs* Thanks for dropping by! 'See' you in a while!
