Ah, the weather is making me laugh. A week ago, it got up to 90 (32 C). Today, it didn't reach 60 (15.5 C) and it's supposed to get down into the upper 30's (3 C) tonight. They've actually got a frost advisory out! So I'll be covering my most fragile plants tonight, since it's rather early to be letting them die already. What weather!

And today was the yearly check-up at the vet for the cats. Two good things happened. I had to wait a long time (because an emergency case came in) which meant Arun actually got tired of exploring the room and settled down (I didn't know that was possible) and they gave me a 10% discount! Anything that keeps the vet bill below $100 is grand by me!

Better than that, the vet gave Shado's heart murmur a rating of 4/5--the same as last year. So if it's gotten worse in the interval, it's imperceptible. Thank God for that!

Yay for long waits at the vet!! Or something...;)

Glad to hear that the kitties are doing well and that the weather is making you happy (even if it's also making you have to work for your plants!)

If I'd thought to bring a book along, I'd have been quite content to wait much longer; as it is, hauling two cat carriers and a purse is enough already! (I'm sure you're acquainted with the 'hauling too much stuff' feeling! ;)

A bit of a shock for them and me, with such a dramatic shift. But I am loving the cool temps!

I hope Michael had a wonderful 2nd birthday! Is the 'party' actually tonight? I think my mom mentioned that...

=) A good book can definitely make a long wait desirable...and yes, I often struggle determining whether or not I REALLY need to bring my purse, even, since I know that I REALLY need to bring the diaper bag...

Yeup! Tonight is cake and presents for Mikey...Your brother didn't get home until 4am this morning, and we couldn't really celebrate without him! (Thankfully, the legislators got their work all done in that time, so he'll be home at a reasonable time tonight...). Mikey doesn't know the difference, though!

Yep, you're probably bound to regret not bringing the diaper bag more than the purse! ;)

Ouch! That was a long session! Glad they're done doing their damage work. It's nice at that age with scheduling. Tell Mikkey Happy Birthday from me!

Done! And thanks for the awesome books!! The kids love them! (I think they're pretty cool, too...;)

Enjoy the cool weather. Hopefully you do not get the frost. That is really early,
but that is Minnesota for you.

Very happy news on Shado heart mummer. SD

It looks like it only reached 40 around here...but they're talking freezing or below for Friday night! I hope they change that. Yes, certainly Minnesota craziness. =)

Indeed! And she told me Arun's ripped-off claw is healing nicely--she thinks he'll get it back.

Actually, I spoke too soon--I did see frost in spots on low open places on my way to the bus stop! Glad my garden is sheltered enough to stay warmer.

The weather is amusing me, too! It got downright chilly last night—I woke up cold a few times, but I was enjoying the sensation so much that I didn’t want to close my window. It will warm up slightly over the next few days, but on Friday a storm front will blow through again, bringing with it a high of 60-odd degrees on Saturday! *bounces* Yay!!!!

And that’s great news about the vet visit! (Though I hope all went well with the poor emergency case…) Glad to hear that Shado’s heart murmur hasn’t grown worse. Is 4/5 almost very good or almost very bad? I’m not sure which way the scale works…

Have a wonderful Wednesday ^_^

It sure is nice to get an early touch of autumn! =D

I hope so too. I forgot to ask about it, as everyone was so busy apologizing for the slowness. 4/5 is almost very bad, I believe it was 3/5 or slightly over that two years ago when they first found it. I just have to keep my eyes peeled for congestive heart failure.

You too!

*huggles* I'm glad to hear that Shado's heart murmur didn't get worse (or at least not noticeably worse!)

Glad to hear that the kitties are both well and that the weather is getting down to tolerable temperatures for you! ^-^

It's a great relief, since it did get worse between Aug 2005 and Aug 2006.

The temps have been exquisite! =D
