It was fun to 'go exploring' with Christi after we had lunch today. Our mission: locating stairwells in the new building. Objective: I want to be able to keep walking the stairs instead of using the elevators when I move to the new building, but security issues and different layout had me worried. As it turns out, I'll have to take the elevator to floor 3 and then the stairs from 3 to 6--but that's much better than not being able to get the exercise at all.
It was a relief to finally get the upload working for a certain project. Never mind it took weeks of banging my head against the wall, and took Jodi, Corey, and I, and random computer people all combined to finally figure it out. I actually felt more drained/stunned than joyous when that upload finally made it onto the X: drive and generated a .pass file rather than the .err file I'd seen a gazillion attempts prior. But yay, one less sticky issue on my plate!
And it was a treat to discover my little Alsobia (in the same family as African Violets and Streptocarpus/Streptocarpella) blooming this week. I haven't even had the little guy two months yet. Hopefully that means I've got the plant in a good spot. I do love those frizzy-petaled blooms!
They certainly are!
There's a link to a picture of it at the end of the post, but the flowers are white with frilly petals and magenta/maroon speckles in the throat. Shaped rather like a streptocarpella, but a little bigger flowers.
