Today I am grateful for:

The fact that it's Friday! This week has been quite hard (workwise, stresswise, emotionally, physically, etc) so I'm very glad to see it drawing to a close.

Rereading 'Saltwater.' Copper's big mouth and his pranks were a delightful cheer-me-up yesterday.

Finding a ladybug on my shirt while walking home from the bus stop. Eighteen spots!

Finishing the fourth illustration in the third section of my avarii essay. Now I'm caught up to the writing side of it!

Emotional Status:
stressed flash flood watch AGAIN
Reaching My Ears:
Arun purring

There's still flood warnings in your area? *winces* Sounds like an awfully long time for it.

*huggles* I hope things calm down for you soon, sweetling. How many illustrations do you have left for the avarii essay?

It never stops! We just keep having more thunderstorms every few days. I really hope my closet doesn't flood while I'm at work this morning. The first storm came at 2 am and this huge crack of thunder right over me practically gave me a heart attack. I almost kicked poor Arun off the bed, and it took a long time for my heart to calm down and to fall back asleep again (I was also waiting for the downpour to stop so it was 'safe' to sleep again). It was pouring getting into work this morning. =P

*smiles* I have no idea. I won't decide what I want to do illustrations for on the last three parts until I've written them. Probably not as many as on the beginning sections, as things like calendars, numeric systems, and singing don't lend themselves to visual illustration.

Gah! I hope it'll stop soon. It stopped being funny long ago. *hugs*

Aah. *nods* Makes sense. ^-^ Good luck with it!

Heh, it's almost starting to be funny because it's so outrageous! ;P

Thanks! Hopefully I can get back into it toward the end of the month.

I really hope they are able to fix your flooding issues SOON!! I LOVE hearing the sounds of rain while I sleep -- It'd be horrible to have to stay up during a storm to keep the water out!

I'm really thankful that it's Friday, too...I've had jury duty all week. I guess having three lil' ones at home isn't a good enough excuse to get out of it...Anyway, I'm home today and Monday, back there on Tuesday to hopefully finish up, and then selling the book rights 90 days later...or something. ;)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Re: Eeks!
I was trying to think back to when I used to actually enjoy storms--single-digit years, so it's been a while. I hope it stops soon, because I don't want to be worrying about the place while I'm in CA.

Wow, so you really got in on a case, huh? Glad you have a 4 day 'weekend'! Enjoy it, and congrats on the upcoming publication! (I want a signed copy ;)

Goodness, no wonder you're feeling so worn out, if it's still flooding in your area! *hugs* I shall send out all my best wishes that it eases up soon.

Fortunately not flooding much, just a lot of threatening storms. But between the increasingly warm and storm-punctuated nights (two last night) I just havne't been getting any refreshment from my sleep--almost as bad as summer! Doesn't help my new desk is FAR too high for me.

It has to end eventually. I suppose we'll go from record highs to severe lows when the 'bottom drops out' because that's what generally happens around here. ;P

Thanks for the comments!

Oh, well that's a relief. I'm very glad to hear you're safe and dry... and that the prospect of cooler temperatures is just around the corner.

Should be cool in a couple days! =) And hopefully stay cool, so I don't have to worry about storms and flooding when I'm visiting my parents.
