Being touched and rather astounded that Joe called Friday night. His wife is in the hospital; his son is due back from Iraq, and he thinks of calling me to make sure I have a ride to the airport and the cats taken care of, and offer his assistance. He tells me that if I need to call him at 2 am, to just keep the phone ringing until he makes it there. They just don't make them like that anymore...
Shado's expression when I turned on the light and jumped out of bed at 3:45 am Saturday morning. Priceless!
That aside from poor Kathy getting lost and being 35 minutes late, and my making it to the plane 10 minutes before scheduled departure--that was the only excitement. The flights were smooth, and things went great.
The beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains above and below the clouds after taking off from Denver.
My mom's German Shepherd Abby recognizing me as I was unloading luggage from the car. That kind of ecstatically joyous reunion has to be able to lift the saddest of hearts! (And she brought the ball to me instead of my mom at least half the time when we were at the park later ;)
Great conversations with both my parents.
A good night's sleep, though getting my bladder and stomach onto California time might be trickier!
