Today, I'm happy that...
My mom and I had a good time with Abby at the William Pond Recreation Area in the morning. I got to see a bunch of birds, too, and the weather was delightful--and we got home shortly before it started raining!
I got to solve a little mystery. Some of the geese at William Pond were like nothing I'd seen and weren't in my bird book. Thanks to the internet and Wikipedia, I was able to identify the goose in my photo as a Chinese Goose, a domesticated form of the Swan Goose. That was fun.
I got to eat more of my mom's wonderful home-made spaghetti and meatballs. It only gets better as it ages.
Yosemite National Park first became a dream destination of mine in 1989, when I saw it in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. And now, within a matter of hours, I'll be headed there. Hurrah!
I was reading a book recently and it reminded me of what you said about Californians having trouble tolerating rain. The setting was in Southern California, and it seemed in every chapter at least one person complained about the rain--which sounds like it was just a normal little rainfall. I wanted to laugh at the characters and say, "Oh, you wimps!"
What a pretty goose! I see why it gets its name Swan Goose. Or why its cousin gets the name, anyway. What a beautifully curved neck!
Yay!! Have fun at Yosemite!!!
