A feedback e-mail from FictionPress this morning...an eleventh (known) reader has finished Hope's Passage!
This was one of the 'invisible' readers. I know there are a number of people watching my page and that story in particular, but because they leave no feedback, I have no way of knowing if they're reading or not.
Things like this leave me with so many questions wriggling around--who was this person? How did they find Hope's Passage amid the many thousands of tales on FictionPress? When did they find it? How long have they been reading? Why did they like it--how did it affect them?
All I do know is that they liked it enough to read it from start to finish, and stepped out of their silence long enough to leave a kind remark at the ending.
And for that, I'm very glad.
