All sorts of wry humor today:
The morning writing session felt a comedy of errors. I reached the fifth paragraph in the chapter and realized I needed the lunar calendar for book 4...then remembered I'd put them away sometime in the past 22 months, then realized I'd quite forgotten where I'd put them, as my mental note hadn't lasted as long as my writing block had. Finally scrounged up what I needed to know from the internet instead, got myself rolling again...and wondered if I might be regretting the fact it was the first Sunday of April. Yes, yes I was, because right at 9 am my computer sprang into its 4-times-a-year defragmentation run that I'd set it up to do. And the analysis showed it really did need defragmenting. So I got kicked off my own pc for some 45 minutes while it labored its way through that (at least I found the lunar calendar printouts in that interval). Finally got back to writing, and immediately ran smack into all sorts of research questions, only some of which I'd done preliminary research on and could solve quickly. So lost oh, another 45 minutes just to get the details right on a few sentences. Finally reached a few untroubled paragraphs...and lo and behold, it was 11:30 already. Just a little over a page for an entire morning!
Jump ahead to the evening, as I'm working over my dinnertime to answer Shanra's latest feedback e-mail on book 1 chapters. *hugs Shanra* Arun starts stalking toward the closet as if there's something in there, and I'm about to shoo him off as I usually do, when I realize he really is stalking something--a pool of water expanding into my room! I daresay the flooding would have gotten a bit farther if it weren't for my cat spotting it. So three cheers for Arun! (Never mind what the bailing sessions did to my evening writing session!)
Last but not least--I'm so glad t'DoL knows what on earth is going on in book 4 when I don't, even if that line in my outline has been there for 2-plus years. Nice of him to sort it out for me--and not make any remarks about my intelligence. I can do that myself! ;P
The morning was just funny, and I'm not too irked about the evening since I was still able to get some writing done, and since the rain stopped, I didn't have to stay up to watch the water.
I couldn't tell you! I rarely spill beverages, I shut them (the cats) up while I'm mopping, and before I tore up the carpet, he wouldn't have seen the water coming through.

That's what bothers me--it was wet and rainy almost all day, but I never noticed it raining HARD. I'm glad they changed the forecast, so we might have some cool cloudy days now, but no rain until Thursday, hopefully.
Me too! I had a good night's work at it tonight.
