I'm grateful the second half of this week is much better than the first.
Very glad my scare with 'Vigil' on Monday was just a scare. If the latter half of the story had actually been wiped out, I'd have been heartbroken for weeks. Thankfully, it was just personal idiocy with the temp file!
Pleased to have passed the 12,000 word mark with 'Vigil' on Tuesday. Not as grand a milestone as 10,000, but reaching it means the story has surpassed the length of all my other short stories, leaving aside the novella 'Nothing Gold.'
Finished my Portal Page illustration for 'Master-Stone's Warder' on Tuesday and for 'Final Circuit' on Thursday. Feels great to have all five done and ready for whenever I get to edit the stories themselves this summer.
A blessing out of the blue when I wasn't even looking for it on Wednesday--inspiration by seeing someone else's creation on how to resurrect my long-stalled 'Proof of Insanity' project. Would be wonderful to resume working with it sometime this summer...
Last but not least, found out my yearly pay raise today (effective June 1). And bigger than I was expecting, too!
I hear you! I don't work longhand, but I used to print all my drafts on paper, which was a (wasteful) reassurance.
It's been a rough week emotionally, and physically, I'm wiped out. I'm very grateful to have a three day holiday weekend coming up!
Eep! I'm glad to hear that your scare was just a scare, me dear! (And that your payraise is bigger than you'd anticipated!)
I'll be looking forward to seeing the Portal illustrations for your stories when you're happy enough with the stories to post them! ^-^
Glad to hear there are good things in the week too! *hugs*
Also, I was just updating my to-do list and I just realised... The names! I'm so slow sometimes. I totally didn't make the connection between the names until just then. *not quite random additional squeeing over Book 2 related matters*
Judge Harai and the title of book 2. ^-^ Unless I've completely lost it now... *no longer sure, would bite nails if they were long enough to bite*
'm sorry to hear you're in the land of the too-much-to-do. May you have less to do soon! (Or at least may it feel like less!) *hugs*
