Thank you, God!
I just got through to my boss (didn't think it polite to call early in the morning on a holiday, after all ;)
Both her townhouse (with no basement *gulp*) and her parents' house (they live fairly close by) escaped the tornado with only a few broken windows. Her parents' house was close--within two blocks everything is destroyed. (The curious can see photos of the damage in the area here.)
I am so relieved. I can finally relax now.
Oooh. That's great news that your boss' and her parents' houses are pretty much all right! (Though a tornado must never be fun and I'm sad for all the people who did lose houses, and especially the family whose little child died.)
Yes, what an awful holiday weekend for those people! One of my boss's neighbors she told me about had all the siding plucked off his house. Really incredible what tornadoes can do. =P And that poor family--they haven't announced who they are yet, all we know is that the rest of them are in the hospital.
But I'm so glad my boss and her family and parents made it through. It could easily have been so much worse.
So am I! She told me this morning it hadn't quite sunk in yet. She's waiting for a chance to help out in some way.
I've been praying for them too. That's very hard.
I just read an article on WCCO that has a home video from someone that videotaped the storm passing over. People are crazy!
